About Steven Minnaar
Steven Minnaar is an artist and the author of the Minnaar Project.
He founded the Project as a lifelong body of work exploring love, life, liberty, and individual sovereignty through art. Rather than producing discrete works for sale, Minnaar committed his creative output to a single, finite oeuvre governed by restraint, continuity, and long-term responsibility.
Minnaar is the author of the Sovereign Declaration and the creator of all works held within the Minnaar Treasury. The Declaration expresses the philosophical foundation of the Project; the artworks serve as its physical record.
While the Project is carried forward through the Minnaar Treasury, Minnaar remains its steward. He guides the Treasury’s decisions, ensuring that works are held, released, and preserved only as necessary to support the Project’s ongoing needs and long-term integrity.
Minnaar’s figurative work centers on Lady Minnaar, the sovereign feminine—a recurring muse representing dignity, freedom, and presence. His abstract works explore inner sovereignty through color, form, and emotional clarity. Together, these bodies of work form a unified artistic language grounded in human intention.
The Minnaar Project is designed to endure beyond its creator.
Minnaar’s role is to author it faithfully and steward it responsibly during his lifetime.
