The Minnaar Project is a living art project advancing love, life, liberty, and individual sovereignty.

It exists to preserve and carry human-made meaning rooted in freedom, responsibility, and intention—through art.

The Project is guided by the Sovereign Declaration, a statement of peace, voluntary relationship, and the rejection of coercion.

What is a “Minnaar”?

A Minnaar is an original artwork created by Steven Minnaar and released as part of a lifelong, finite body of work.

Each Minnaar exists as:

  • a complete, original work of art, and

  • (when designated as such) a sovereign share within the Minnaar Treasury.

What is the Minnaar Treasury?

The Minnaar Treasury is the private, finite body of Minnaars that carries the Project forward over time.

The Treasury holds, preserves, and releases works only as necessary to support the Project’s ongoing needs and long-term integrity.

Not all works created by Steven Minnaar belong to the Treasury.

What is a “Sovereign”?

A Sovereign is an official print of the Sovereign Declaration.

It is an original print artwork that also functions as the Treasury’s internal unit of reference. It does not exist independently of the Declaration or the artwork itself.

Sovereigns are used solely to express relative position, scarcity, and artistic intention within the Project.

They are not money, currency, assets, securities, or promises of future value.

What is the Sovereign Declaration?

The Sovereign Declaration is a Declaration of Peace and Independence.

It affirms:

  • peace over conflict

  • voluntary relationship over coercion

  • self-rule and self-mastery

  • respect for the life, liberty, and property of others

  • and the right to say “No.”

The Declaration is free to share and live by.
No participation or agreement is required.

What does it mean to steward a Minnaar?

To steward a Minnaar is not simply to hold an artwork.

It is to enter into a long-term relationship with a living body of work grounded in restraint, responsibility, and continuity.

There is no expectation to acquire art quickly, repeatedly, or at all.

How can I support the Project?

Support for the Minnaar Project is entirely voluntary.

You may support the Project freely by sharing its ideas—reading, discussing, and living the principles expressed in the Sovereign Declaration.

You may also support the Project materially by stewarding the work itself. This may take the form of acquiring or gifting Minnaars, when alignment and availability allow.

There is no expectation to participate in any particular way.
Ideas are free.
The art is finite by design.

If you wish to inquire about acquisition, you may contact Steven directly.

Are Minnaars investments or financial products?

No.

Minnaars are works of art created and stewarded for artistic, philosophical, and cultural reasons.

The Project is not a bank, fund, marketplace, or system promising liquidity or appreciation.

How are Minnaars authenticated?

Treasury-designated Minnaars include a Certificate of Authenticity with verifiable provenance, used solely to preserve authorship and historical record.

Why the emphasis on restraint and limited release?

Because the Project is built on human reality.

The Treasury releases works only as necessary to support the Project’s ongoing needs. This discipline preserves clarity, independence, and coherence over time.

How do I inquire about a Minnaar?

You may contact Steven to inquire.

If there is alignment and availability, a conversation may follow.
There is no obligation, expectation, or timeline.
